A2 RW27752 by FIVESTAR

i just wanna share some pics of my late Christmas gift (thx to my wife) a RW27752 A2 made by @Shawn Ali and his dudes at Fivestar ...

The hhide ist absolutely nice - appearance and weight are both comparable to the high-end (high-price) brands. The price vs. value ratio is imho much better than on any TMC/RMC jacket (keeping in mind all facts like higher labor-costs in Japan aso)

Anyway - since i'm actually not that specifically an A2 guy and rathermore love G1s over A2 i actually never searched for originals before and thus ended up with a repop again. Oppose to my philosophie in G1 jackets go with originals only.

I still own 2 older A2 from Shawn and another RW i purchased about a year ago and for me the RW-specs do it best in terms of fitment aso. For me an A2 is not a jacket typically meant for layering underneath but rather be worn over a tee or a shirt.

I'm 1.90//6.3" and 100kgs/220lbs and wear a 46

As for the colorcombo i went with the HILTS-setup recommended by FIVESTAR - less the nametag

I like the "meatball"-decal pretty much even though someone might say the colors might look a bid too "fresh"

Yeesh, tough crowd. Thomas has never made any bones about the fact that he's a Navy jacket guy, and his collection of originals is really cool. If he dabbles in a budget A-2 repro, and he's enjoying himself, who cares how accurate it is, or how much he knows about A-2s?

You make that jacket look badass, @Thomas Koehle .

Nailed it about my knowledge/experience with A2s Jan!

As a matter of fact even from a practical side of view I like them Navy jackets more … :)

This is the age-old perennial chestnut which never ends getting knocked around on fora such as this.

Absolute accuracy versus how much the guy/girl buying the thing gives a shit about absolute accuracy.

If you're after a super accurate A-2 repro then 5 Star probably won't bake your biscuit. If you're not interested in an A-2 repro that is as close as it can get then this 5 Star would probably be all you need.

I think it's worth remembering that not everyone on here wants or values the same thing. That's not a bad thing or a wrong thing, just different strokes for different folks.

Thomas knows his RW isn't an ELC or even a GW so telling him it's not is a bit fucking redundant. The main thing is it puts a smile on his dial and that's all that matters.

Absolute perfect description of what drives me to either decide for a 350 USD reproduction or to a 1.500 USD repop …

@flyincowboy is correct: bottom line it’s all just reproductions
