Real or Repro ?

I'm not a jacket expert unlike some of you who can look at pictures of the jacket, the pattern of the pockets, style of collar, etc. and know the manufacturer, year it was made, what leather it was made from and to who and where it was issued. What can you tell me about this jacket ?

More knowledgeable posters will hopefully chime in, but to me it looks like a genuine vintage A-2 from the W535-ac-27753 contract, thought to be made by Cable Raincoat. Check out John Chapman's repro here:

Why do I think it's real? The Conmar zip and label look good, though I think the knits might be replacements. The wear pattern also looks good to my (inexperienced) eye.

The jacket looks like it was a depo refurbish/respray job, as the hanger at the neck is russet but the jacket is seal. (Also, as John's writeup indicates, the contract appears to have been made in russet hides.) Plus there is the decal, which I think would have been a depo refurb add-on.

Take it FWIW, which ain't much...

Matt is correct here. A no name 27753 which has been through a USAAF depot at some stage.
