I had a friend who was at Khe Sanh. When he came back he could give a shit. As we move forward in time through real wars and genocides these little colonial brushfires seem less and less interesting to me. Some friends of mine went to Vietnam and I've seen them progress through outright PTSD to angry questioning to finally in old age a pride in service. Now they're all heroes but boy they sure didn't feel that way on return.The Battle of Khe Sanh started today 57 years ago...
