"Pill box demolishers" being unloaded on the Western Front. These were damn big shells weighing 1,400 lbs (635kg). When they detonated their explosions made craters over 15 feet deep and 15 yards across...

These things are about the same size as the 16 inch guns on the USS Missouri Battleship .

Note the criss-cross patterns of multiple generations of trenches, the thousands of craters left by mortars, artillery, and the detonation of underground mines. Hard to believe men could survive in that nightmare...

It's a B-10, the shiny appearance is from the colorisation process that's been done.

Awful colourisation. Not a fan of the trend in general but the tide has turned and there's no going back.

My grandpa had issues all his life from the mustard gas.

Not surprised, many were affected by the use of gas during WWI.

Most don't know the wide range of gases they used, ranging from irritating tear gases to painful mustard gas, to lethal agents like phosgene and chlorine.

WWI on the Western Front wasn't a nice place to be an infantryman.
