Pants, WW2

Going through my file of front facing crew photos I came across perfect illustrations of WW2 pants and the vast difference between builds now and then. Check out the guy on the left in this photo- he probably weighs 110 pounds at 5'9" tall. IMO the pants look strange and gives him a vaquely feminine look. I don't like these WW2 pants!

This other photo shows how jackets actually fit over these guys' clothing. Fred Mertz style high high pants on small upper bodies, these jackets are actually quite roomy- when zipped they look shorter and smaller than they are- on these WW2 guys. Again- IMO the pants are unsightly!

As the classic rule of thirds would dictate, this higher rise cut hits the Golden Ratio!

Old school high rise strides with room in the backside worn by men/boys who grew up during the Great Depression with a calorific intake far removed from the modern Western (and especially American) diet.

The pants/trousers look strange to many modern eyes because trousers like this haven't been in vogue for years. They had a slight comeback in the 80s, when 30s/40s tailoring was popular again.

love the 1940's high waisted look..............in period photos ............... not for today's wear. OK, I guess with a jacket/coat that is zipped up so one can't see the waistline.....just IMO
