Indeed. We're all entitled to our opinion regarding quartz watches, but I'm pleased to see them running a distant second to Swiss mechanicals. I imagine the situation is vastly different with Japanese-made watches, but traditionally most of them would hardly be considered "high end." Sure they keep accurate time, but in my opinion quartz watches lack the essential "soul" that makes a quality watch such a pleasure to own.

Ah yes, the satisfaction of owning a fine swiss mech movement. A good accurate one, nothing like it. I can only afford one, the rest are Jap/swiss quartz. Good but not as nice as having a COSC cirt. swiss work of art.

I've been looking at that watch (or one exactly like it) for years... I agree, I love the military look of it. Very cool.

MkII MMT Blackwater, modeled on the old mil Benrus type I.

MMT MOD2A which is copy of Benrus type II...I think
These MKII's are not easy to find on used market.
I don't know why. Maybe it's a keeper!

Yes type II. I prefer the MOD I.

When they do appear they go for about $400.
