Update... I have found that a chrome tanned version of this leather is indeed available. That said, samples should arrive by the end of the week. Thanks 2BM2K for the boot to the head.

It is Veg tanned aniline, with an additional aniline dye process to get just the right color. The hide is HWT first, cut, dyed and sewn, then distressed.

Will there be a Chrome Tanned version?

SAMPLES arrived! As promised the Chrome tanned Steer has turned up today.

About: This is a .9 to 1.1mm, Chrome Tanned, Veg re-tan, aniline dyed Steerhide. Available in the typical WWII colors, plus black, and should suffice for all of our needs in the foreseeable future.
