N-1 Deck Jacket in Khaki

Hi VLJ,

I've been looking at some N-1 repros and I'm really liking the Gizemo offering in Khaki: https://gizemoshop.myshopify.com/products/n-1-model-2-khaki?_pos=1&_sid=6e5f2ed0f&_ss=r

I have a question though, is the khaki colour historically accurate? I've come across previous discussions here and it was mentioned that N-1 only came in the Olive drab colour but faded to Khaki but I can't find any information which confirms this.

A lot of repro manufacturers seems to offer both Khaki and Olive colourways though, so I'm thinking Khaki might be historically accurate?

I do own (what I believe to be) an original N-1 which I'll add some pictures. The tag is completely faded but this looks like the Khaki colourway that most repro manufacturers offer today. However, in certain areas like under the armpits, it looks more like olive which makes me think this is is actually a faded olive N-1.

Does anyone know for certain?

Thank you!

I would go for a khaki version.

The variety of manufacturers, difference in the recipe of dye, different manufacturers of the fabric, different "wear 'n tear", different environmental influences (sun, saltwater, wear, ...), care and maintenance by the owner, ... all these aspects influence the color respectively fading of garment.

Those deckjackets have been used for daily wear but not - like with most collectors or enthusiasts - to be worn once in a month for heavy jobs. Means the product when new showed color variations (imagine 80 yrs back and no quality inspector gave a ... about colors) + the different ways of use so that i hardly believe there is a "right or wrong" in the decision olive or khaki ...

I own a small collection of A2 Deck-Jacket manufactured in the 60ies until 80ies and even with the more modern manufacturing methods there is a big variety of colortones in the olive
