My new GW 27752, my former GW '41 Werber and my Aero

All:
I am all-too-aware of "A2-itus" and have at last arrived with my final...my new GW Rough Wear 27752. John was amazing to plan/converse with and buying this jacket was a lot of fun...the first I acquired from Good Wear directly. My quest began with a Chinese (I think?) A2 from Spearhead...then the Aero (too short for me), the GW Werber and now the new addition. Here are some pics of the new amazing jacket, and some comparison pics of the Aero, the GW Werber and the GW Rough Wear:

Huge congrats! I'd love to see some pics of it on when you can!
Lovely jacket. As nice group.

Is it me, or does the Aero look outclassed, like an amateur or a lightweight got in the ring with a heavyweight top contender?

You could liken the jackets to Rugby...the GWs would be the backs (real good lookin') and the Aero a front rower (not so purdy)..

The RW hide looks like the red HH that John offered a while back. I have it on my GW Dubow.

...or the gridiron player trying to emulate the rugby player. Superficially alike, able to cover some of the moves, more heavily built, but deep down you know it's not 100%.
;)

Thanks for the kind words, gents. The Rough Wear is seal Japanese HH...in those photos it looks MUCH more red than in person for some reason. I will post some more in different lighting tonight (and it on).

ahh yes that famous old saying about the size of a man's epaulettes...

Thanks Mr Adams, I was wondering if the leather was the Seal Brown aniline. From the sample Vickie sent me it can appear to have a slight russet tinge to it.

That's surprising!
Sure looks like the Red Russet HH I've seen...but in different lighting.

Lookin' good!
I'm digging the Coke GMT II Fat Lady on your wrist. I have one just like it.

Modeled with my GW Mustang Horween 27752.
We seem to have similar taste in jackets and watches!

Still stiff and needs some good wearing/settling/deflating...the high of 96 on Saturday means at least a month or two before it really comes out of the closet. I should have added some detail about the jacket (and will in the review forum when I can properly write a review): this is the newest Rough Wear 27752 pattern that John has made...and you'll see this jacket currently featured on Goodwearleather.com here:

Love the Coke GMT II...mine is actually the same model but the Pepsi GMT II...bought it in 2004 BEFORE kids and that was a good thing...these things have doubled in price and my bills have tripled since then!

Hey, let's see a pic or two of that jacket...great color and the lighter cuffs look really strong with it. Mustang!?

Here's some pictures from John's site when the jacket was originally up for sale. Apparently, I am the third owner.

Here is part of John's description of the Horween Mustang leather when the jacket was originally offered for sale.
"We have used Horween's Mustang horsehide, which has a very dark brown tone and a wax finish. It has amazing natural grain, and is a very comfortable hide."

This hide is very unique. I've never seen anything like it before or since. Don't know if this is something Horween has on a regular basis or not. It is very supple, very grainy and has a waxy finish. When it gets cold, it really stiffens up. I asked John about this hide and apparently he only used it this one time. He did say Horween was very difficult to deal with in buying small numbers of hides, so he has gone to other sources. I read somewhere that Horween now has a "boutique" policy of selling single hides to non-trade customers. Might bear looking into. Interesting concept if John would work this way if we supplied our own hide! But, probably too difficult to do on a regular basis, but still an interesting concept.

I'm confused. That' jacket from John's site looks different to me? Are the pics that off from his to yours?

Hi Scott, are you talking about my jacket? It is very different from the current offering as far as the hide goes. Other details may be different as it was made a few years ago.
