Hi all!
I'm planning a Monarch A2 jacket build and was planning on using my standard A2 sleeve length measurement that I know works well from previous A2 contract jackets I've worn/tried on. However, I am being advised to make the sleeves an inch or so longer because of the Monarch contract pattern.
Is there something unique about the Monarch A2 contract design that would require that the sleeve length be longer to have the ends of the sleeves reach the same place as other A2 contracts? For example, for an RW contract with shoulders of 18 inches and sleeves of 25 inches, would a Monarch contract with shoulders of 18 inches need to be say 26.5 inches to have the ends of the sleeves be equal? Or put another way, if 18-inch shoulders and 25-inch sleeves work well for me for the other A2 contracts, why wouldn't the same measurements work for me with a Monarch contract?
I don't see any obvious differences in construction with the Monarch that would account for this, but I am by no means an expert. Any input/advice would be greatly welcome!
