Ah B-Man 2 , the reference to shearling.I am a biker also and have over the years tried many layers under. The super light down cuts and jackets are brilliant till they get compressed and lose their loft. Heated vests and jackets work good but are a right faff. A shearling vest I have not tried but am contemplating doing so. If you don’t mind me asking what shearling do you wear?

Aero have some with 10mm shearling. I've got one and it's fine if the jacket isn't too tight. I had an Eastman C3 a while ago as well and I used to wear that under a HWM quite easily in the winter.

I have an Eastman shearling vest, it's a cracking garment and works very well under most jackets, it's not as think as the above mentioned Aero being more like 6mm at a guess. It's also great on it's own.

While my biker days are now behind me I used to ride one since I was 17 often in the very cold weather of Pennsylvania, as well as many trips across the US. What I found to work best ( I never had a heated vest ) was either a Shearling vest and in extremely cold weather a military style sweater or jumper called a Wooley Pulley with a Shearling vest under my jacket . The shearling vest was a commercially made one that I never took note of the make or label , but if I were riding today I’d probably wear the one made by Bronson. I’ll see if I can find some links for you. I always wore a traditional biker jacket one size bigger than I normally take I’m a 46 so I wore a 48 so I had room to layer under it . My jacket is pictured below . Anyway good luck with your search and stay safe .

Thanks for the reply , Bronson I will check out what they make also. Btw My mates pretty well all run Harleys and I am the odd one out on a modern retro look Triumph but that is only because the salesman I encountered at HD was disinterested. I will need to run one before I run oot o time , sitting up here in the sma hours , 2.30am local partaking in a Glengoyne 10yo whisky

I looked up Eastman's C3 yesterday to see what they cost now. I bought the one I had not that long ago, about 2014-15 and it was £180. They now want over £600 for It. A simple shearling zip up body warmer or waistcoat....

Simmons do one at £425 with a handy tail option which will suit riding and is available in multiple skins and wool lengths.£390 buys the Aero ‘Outlaw‘ and it looks well made.I am still raking the net to check out the others but will definitely order one soon.

Aero regularly have the Outlaw on the sale pages for £330 or so now. It is well made. They also do a C3 I think a few quid cheaper.
