Surely you are confusing the m444 with the m445 ? The small collar of the m444 is the thing that I don't like most of all, it looks odd somehow particularly as it lacks a leather backing so won't stand up.

Absolutely right John my mistake, I was talking of the M445, I'm assuming (as I've never had one (M444)) that they both are boxy, although I'm lead to believe the M444 is a little shorter? I too prefer the M445 collar, although getting it zipped to the top in a fierce wind can give the impression that there's a wasp loose inside.

I regret selling on my RMNZ M 442. It was just slightly tight on me so I let it go, now of course I have lost weight and it would just be a nice fit. Oh well, at least I turned a profit on it.

no regrets really. I guess I would not mind lining up all of my GW's from over the years and seeing any changes that I might have made. Some of the early/test jackets were pretty cool!

Regret selling my GW Foster G-1 , my 69 GTO, MY, HK-91, COLT 1ST GEN SAA and the list goes on and on. I still have an RMNZ B-2 I got here and and a GW A-1 so it goes both ways. The beauty of the forum is that sometimes jackets you sold come up for sale again.

My two mint, unissued 1945 dated M43 field jackets. One was made by Poughkeepsie and both were a 42L (fit my 46 frame perfectly though). Would LOVE to still have them.
