Fleabay chancer trying to sell a damaged jacket

No I don't think it was mishandled by the posties either
Yes probably not. Just pointing out that it is possible to get damage that way. I have seen other cases where customs just crammed jackets back into boxes and caused wrinkles, but no real damage. It happens some times with my shipments. Enough to not just be an isolated incident.
The real mystery is, was it Wolverine or Freddie Kruger that did it?

Seriously though, don't keep that jacket and try to fix it. I think that would be opening a can of worms. Better to just get the full refund.

You will get your money back because they always take the buyer's side even when the buyer is in the wrong.
Too right!
I once sold an antique telephone which was clearly described in several places in the listing as ‘Untried, Untested and For Parts or Not Working’. Even so, the highest bidder opened up a case because he couldn’t use it for the particular parts he was wanting.
eBay instructed me to issue a full refund, but when I spoke to an agent asking how else should I be expected to sell or describe such an item they agreed that it was pretty ridiculous.
Although the buyer did receive a refund it was actually paid by eBay and not me, meaning I was able to keep all the proceeds. Needless to say I blocked the buyer from bidding on any more of my items.

Well seller has now finally agreed to accepting the return and after wanting it all done outside ebay it is now going through ebay official route. I am still convinced the seller knew of the damage before selling (hence the poor pictures) although he denies it. All who buy on ebay, take note of the seller name and beware.

If you still want a HWM at a good price you could look at this one. It's listed as a possible Aero because it doesn't have a label but it looks like an early Connolly steerhide to me. They ran out of labels around then according to KC there so that might account for it. At £125 it's a good price for a decent punt.

Bought an Aero Highwayman at what seemed a great price. There were only 2 photos without much detail but the jacket was described as "perfect condition". Jacket arrives and lo and behold, there is damage to the leather of the arms. Not sure what the guy had done to it but needless to say it is going back.
That’s really frustrating about the Aero Highwayman jacket, especially when it was described as "perfect condition." Good call on returning it. Make sure to take clear photos of the damage before sending it back, just in case.

Next time, definitely ask for more detailed photos before buying. Hopefully, the return goes smoothly, and you find a great jacket soon!

Good luck, Terry

Thank you - it looks very interesting. Might be a bit big though

Thanks Terry. Yes, fingers crossed! I have another Aero of a different style which I recently got from another member but the highwayman is calling. :)

I thought the same and it could well be an Aero although the zip does look to be a bit on the large size for the ones they normally use (of course it could always have been replaced)
And it’s not easy to see from the photos but some of the sewing around the hem looks to be a bit ‘off’ . The seams either side of the bottom of the zip don’t seem to line up and one side appears higher than the other.
Still, as you say it’s not a bad price to possibly take a punt.
