Shawn, try and get the correct throat hooks and studs... Not sure if you have these for the final jackets yet. The throat hooks have hollow eyelets.

Shawn I checked your UK eBay store but did not see your Doniger listed . Also you list G1 jackets as Air force jackets you should be listing them as US Navy flight jackets .The A1 jackets are listed as Varsity jackets this is something different, and lastly MA1 jackets are listed as Harrington jackets definitely not . If you need help ask us we will help , the right title sells the jacket .

Dear @Bombing IP

Many thanks for pointing out these, These are some old listings I will change them accordingly.
All of your help is really appreciated.

I figured the prices would go up as the level of detail increased, but didn't see a jump to $292.58 USD coming (for a size large)... Almost double compared to not long ago. Looks like it's time for me to start saving-up for one. I'm glad I was able to purchase the 5 jackets I have at the old prices.

Don't get me wrong.. I suppose a price increase was inevitable. Just a bit of 'sticker-shock' when I clicked the link. I noticed this original Doniger pic on 5-Star's FB page, and was wondering if it's one that Shawn actually obtained, and is patterning from? (I don't recall seeing it mentioned in previous posts):

Dear @Technonut2112

Thanks for sharing your concerns, and letting me explain on that.

Making of this jacket's involve more detailed stitching and double time almost than the ordinary A-2 Articles, all of its accessories we are importing from overseas, We are offering customization's like different lining colors every lining colour we offer need to have that fabric covered buttons which we are importing. Sometimes even for a single custom jacket we are importing these buttons, so where we are getting higher in costs we are adding this.

Except of these facts we are offering special discounts to our VLJ Friends and members, Like if you can remember we sent you all those 5 custom jackets at special price's, so please don't worry on that.

Best Regards

Shawn

My A2 arrived this morning!! That is really quick delivery! It is a great jacket for the money in my opinion. It fits great I think and so glad I didn't go for the smaller size now as this is a snug fit! Thanks to Shawn for his advice! It should mold to my shape as I wear it. I'm a very happy chap indeed! Tempted to go for a capeskin now

Shawn is very close to nailing this Doniger down. I’d definitely be interested in the finished product. Maybe if we collectively let him know how many of us are waiting for the final completion, it might convince him to concentrate his efforts on getting this one finished and ready for sale.

Burt,

as I might have been the initial force behind @Shawn Ali 's DONIGER jacket, I will definitely get one as soon as he gets the little things worked out... I provided him with the basic features of this contract, but we came to a point where more than just basics were needed.

So my kudos to Shawn to present a product here at VLJ that was not finally ready and thereby risk to get fire from the members here... I am glad that it turned out to be less fire and more valuable input from you guys.

So Shawn, if you want to know the demand for your Doniger then count me in!

Best regards,

Ties

If A Five Star jacket looked like that original pic I’d one in an instant, as many others here would I suspect.

Why do Five Star waist knits look so thin, as in height of the knit, and like the waist is from a jacket two sizes bigger than the actual jacket size? Compare the pic of the original and Five Star repro above.

And a pet hate of mine, why are these sized S,M,L,XL etc? The jackets have inch chest measures so use them!

Sorry, these comments are meant constructively. I think Shawn has made huge progress and should be applauded, but some of the little details that make all the difference don’t cost much if anything I think.

To put it bit plainer.
You think the knits are not high enough.

Shawn’s products have come a long way since his initial offerings . I recall that you were one of the first to purchase one of his jackets and bring him to our attention. He’s made some impressive advancements.

Thank you. I will definitely! I've only worn it to take photos today and its been hot here today for a change, so it's been hanging in the wardrobe.. Not on a wooden hanger I hasten to add. Seems that's not a good thing from what I've read on some posts here?

One question.. The leather seems pretty good quality for a reasonably priced horsehide jacket, but a large area of the left corner on the back seems a lot thinner and almost stretched and plasticy? Should I be worried or is that normal? I'd hate for it to tear. I realise there are variations in hides, but it's definitely noticeably thinner. I'll try get some photos tomorrow.
