Does anyone have a jacket in the new mid brown horse hide? I emailed Shaw this morning and pulled the trigger on a Dubow in the aforementioned leather. I want to know what kind of a treat I’m in for.

I think that’s the only one I haven’t seen pictures of. I’ve handled a sample of it though, and it looks great. I’d say go for it.

Priced so that you can just grab another one if you are not 100% happy.... and you realise only russet can truly satisfy!

In terms of which color is most accurate, the medium brown is probably the best. A lot of Stars were a kind of light seal. The new Seal color for Five Star is better for a Great Escape jacket.

If it’s any help I’m fortunate enough to have an original Star A2 . If you’d like, I can either post a photo of it or PM you a photo for comparison purposes , for choosing which 5 hide comes closest to the original color .

And priced to get another if you are! I already have a Dubow in seal steer/dull purple knits. Now I’m going to have the mid brown/brown knits in HH. I can’t wait, this new one is getting patched up.

Bombers. I’ve always associated the A-2 with bombers, B-10 with fighters. There’s a particular B-17 my grandmother was involved with and I’m trying to find information on it. I would like to do a tribute jacket but if I can’t find it I will do either Doolittle Raiders or air apaches motif.

Else its an WPG (or if i'm lucky and the stars align then a second hander)

I think when it comes out, Shawn's Irvin will be well worth the wait. The pictures of his latest B-3s show his team has the skills necessary to do great work. For the Irvin, they just need a pattern and the materials.

Hey yall, wanted to share an update on my custom FIVE STAR jacket. Shawn just sent me some pictures of the final product before it ships. It's Shawn's G8 pattern, with the handwarmer pockets in mid brown Horsehide. Super happy with his work and very excited to see how it fits!
