Thinking about pulling the trigger on a Five Star "Repro USAAF Type B-3 Bomber Aviator Seal Brown Sheep Leather Flight Jacket Distressed Reinforcements" and was hoping someone out there has this one in their closet and would be willing to share photos and critique. Cheers!

Do a search here, one of our members "flyincowboy" has a rather nice looking one.

Thanks for the tip. I had seen that thread, but having scoured the forums, I've found remarkably little substantive discussion of the various Five Star B-3s (they offer 8 models, not incl. the two "nude" versions). I've tried to ken the nuances of each with very little success. Any input would be appreciated of course, but I was specifically asking about the "Heavy Russet Brown Horse Hides Distressed Reinforcements" offered on only one model. They don't look all that "distressed" in the website pix (which is a good thing IMHO), and I don't put much stock in the photos on the Five Star website in any case (based on comments I've read), hence my query about whether anyone has this beastie irl. It seems odd that they only mention distressed HH reinforcements (as opposed to the whole jacket), but I'd probably mate 'em up to a different model anyhoo. I just thought it was worth tossing out there.

I am sure you have seen this photo: Honestly, I sent them a photo of an Eastman 50 cal B-3 and I said I wanted it to look like that. All trimming and reinforcements are HH, they did slightly distressed on the HH.

Thanks, CBI--it does look like the reinforcements and pocket have been lightly "distressed," I like it!
