ELC Kit Bags

Sorry Carl I meant the lack of the strips between the handle straps stitched on the body of the early bags. The ELC versions don't have these which isn't the same as most early (khaki not OD) originals?

Has anyone already got one of the SoF bags, or even better, able to do a comparison with the Eastman bag? I’m very interested in SoF bag which happily is massively cheaper and appears more authentic!

Stanier, I put an order in for a SoF kit bag yesterday so it should be here sometime next week and I'll post a review here with photos. Not having handled it but from the photos the SoF one actually does seem to be a more faithful copy, at least of an early khaki kit bag. The ELC bags are missing the two fabric strips I was asking Carl about.

I should also say a big thank you to Ties who has been giving me great advice and tips about painting a group badge on it when I get it.

Please do Carl, it's always great with your kit and photos. I'm escaping and going fishing with the boys for the weekend so I might be incommunicado for periods depending on how "rural" we go!

I both fly fish and standard cast Carl. Just a little bit early here for fly fishing, well for me anyway as my big love is dry fly - the insects haven't hatched yet. I'll be salt water fishing so hoping to maybe get an early sea trout coming up the fjord if I'm lucky.

I agree with you Remote, originals flight kit bags are still relatively easy to come by and serve as great overall travel bags. I use mine for storage and carry on bags.
