Brown Knits vs. Red Knits

I have never liked the Aero red knits, I think they look daft and unmilitary, and like something they chucked on because they ran out of brown ones. Are we calling them Berry these days? I always thought they were Rust.

Buzz Rickson are such devotees of the flying jacket sphere they replicate this business practices of switching to non-standard knits on jackets as well. ;)

I always went with Rust, though I am more flexible and embrace change these days..

I'm with you on this one Mikey, I much prefer the brown.

I like the look of the berry knits but I could never wear them, just a little too garish perhaps for my tastes. I have always preferred more subtle details, the ones you have to look for. These baby's jump out and grab you by the throat. My GW Dubow 27798 sports the less intense rust knits and I struggle with those sometimes. Great if you have the confidence to pull it off just not my thang.

I'm with these guys. Not my thang either.

My understanding is Berry on Aero's and Rust on Dubows. To add credence to this the knits on my 27798 match perfectly the rust on my 1968 Vespa.

Not sure that's a great advert for either...

Berry bring up images of brightness or bursts of red which is pretty much how I see these these knits.

I recall another maker labelling the Aero knits as berry and it may well have been Aero Leather. As I say they match the rust on my old Vespa so that satisfies me. I have had a good old look at my Dubow knits, like a continual gaze both from afar and close up for many minutes both wide eyed and squinting and I cannot see how they could ever be called berry without bringing into force the Trade Descriptions Act 1968.

I'm sure JC called the Dubow knits purplish rust at some point and he is the jacket god. ;) .
