IIRC, forgive me for it's been 30 years or so,
I think that I saw that insignia in an issue of CBI Roundup.
10th Air Force, theater made insignia (India), relating to
Air Re-Supply Squadrons. Thinking 1st Air Commando Group.
Is the embroidery sewn to a royal blue colored denim?

The patch is painted on a aircraft type canvas backing .....
