...............well, in your size you should be able to find something great used, probably an ELC.

At its core, the A-2 is a simple, elegant design. 2 patch pockets, epaulettes, knitted waist and cuffs.

A variety of makers playing on proportions, it's an understated, utilitarian design that works in our contemporary world + 50 years from now. Timeless.

It’s a hard question to answer John as no no doubt some will see it as fashion piece and others that it captures an era in time
It’s probably the same as asking you why you like Irvin’s and shearlings

Didn’t initially see myself with an A-2 couldn’t see the attraction… BOB shearling and the Ostmann were my original ELC purchases. Only living a couple of hours away I went to over to ELC for a nosey one day and tried on an A-2 for amusement and came away having ordered one that I virtually lived in for the next ten years. Similar outing saw an A-1 tried on …same outcome … not keen on the A-1 until I tried one …favourite summer jacket now.

yes, really, why would anyone be interested in B-3's or A-1's? Just as silly a question. Oh well, just one of those odd posts/threads..............it happens

Years back, when I was unaware of the different contracts, I always wondered why the pictures of originals had so many differences. And now , when I switch between them , I see it even more so. If I’ve been wearing my rw for a while and switch to the dubow or bronco my first impression is hmmm, is that right? Then I go through pictures of originals and yep, that’s exactly what it looks like.

Every excuse to go through vintage photos of epic dudes wearing originals, must be seized!!

Been an a-2 guy since my first, given to me original, back when I was eleven years old. There is something inherently steady about them…….from 1933 til now. Yeah there is a wide moat between originals and repros, but both have their moments. As to John who is not interested in getting one, I would suggest a size 44, with the waistband sized for a size 42, due to his upper body being developed, but still trim down below.
