I have just looked through the photos and in my opinion, the jacket could pass as an original to me.

Blimey, that looks done to a turn.
If anybody is looking for a Hilts jacket in a year's time, you know who to call...
Incredibly picky (but that's me) - the only things that jar are the new knits, which need to be pulled/stretched and holed to complete the look.
Otherwise, uncanny...

Thanks Everyone. I have worn that A-2 every day I could and left it on the dash of my car so the sun could do it's part.

I posted pictures when it was new a few years ago. A friend of mine at work had never seen The Great Escape so I gave him the DVD. After watching it I had told him how much that A-2 turned my props. He came up with the idea to ask John about making a A-2 and re dyeing it. John said he had never done it but would give it a try. As you see it took a few years but I'm more then happy with it.

That's not a "time worn" effect on a new jacket - this jacket is REALLY worn. This is IMHO the only way to get such a stunning vintage look on a A-2 - wearing, wearing, wearing!

Well, these photos pretty well say it all don't they? If anyone needs to STILL be sold on Good Wear........I mean come on!

This looks like an original ............ case closed.

Congrats John!!!!

As an aside (and I can say this being the owner of many Good Wears) these pics are a good argument to own ONE jacket and simply wear the hell out of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Us guys with a closet full of leathers wanting our jackets to look vintage............I guess we need to start paying other people to wear them daily until they get the look.

Well, OK, maybe its fine to own more than one!

:D

I echo John's (CBI's) comments and would add that if this is the look to which you aspire, fewer jackets worn routinely and, where circumstances allow, in all weathers without too many thoughts about the purchase price...

Funny thing. I had a number of repo A-2's and realised that if I paired down to only one then it would get worn MUCH more and that's what I did. (of course I have now ordered an A-2 From BK, be here this week in the Russet Antique Hide )Also odd is I collect musle cars and they HAVE to look mint inside and out, spend hours and way to much money searching for NOS parts for my cars and WWll 1945 Willys jeep. But my repo A-2 looks better beat up.

Very nice indeed...CBI I don't mind wearing a couple of yours for you...give me them for a couple of years!!
Seriously wearing one jacket routinely is the way forward as otherwise it is a struggle to break several jackets in at once,I like to wear mine hard regardless of price, just take care of them when required ie allow to dry and apply Pecards if needed,no hwt for me but rain is a must
