Aerial Star A2 - Looks promising, I ordered one!

Wise to offer an in stock jacket, rather than get bogged down in the minutia. Need to turn a profit to grow the business. The jackets look good in the mid range market, it will be nice to see one worn in.

I have one. Slash-pocket model. Great jacket, and Chris is a great guy...haven't worn it too often because it's a hair short. It has been on the FL classifieds for some time now but I'm going to redo the listing. I'll be sure to post pics up here.

any pics of these out in the wild? I'd like to get the slash pocket version as a summer jacket..

how would this kind of leather respond to HWT? tempted to size up a little then shrink it down to bring out the grain :)

My size 46 just arrived. It's absolutely superb, really wonderful steerhide that's soft and flexible but heavy and thick. The drape is very like I imagine a new WWII A2 to be, not too stiff or boardy like some Eastman hides can be. Also no issues with the fit, just right.
I'll take a couple of pics tonight and post tomorrow.

There are a few photos of mine in this album. The color in person is kind of hard to describe. A little less reddish than the photos suggest, but darker than the closeup of leather photo.

I'd be wary of using any kind of HWT (or wearing in the rain frequently) for these jackets, because the steerhide is analine dyed. I've heard they don't react well to water (though Chris confirmed the tannery adds a top coat which waterproofs the jacket). I wouldn't be afraid to wear it in the rain sparingly though.

And other than aesthetics or getting the jacket to mold to your body, it's already pretty soft and pliable out of the box. Order your true size and you shouldn't have any problems. The jackets are cut a bit roomier in the upper arms than a mil-spec A-2, which can be a put-off for some, but the jacket as a whole is exceptionally well-tailored and all of the parts blend together really well.

The sleeve knits are pretty tight around the wrists, keep that in mind. They will surely loosen up with wear I would presume. And it looks like their jackets use significantly wider/different knits than the regular A-2. I'm paranoid, but I'd probably order the jacket a half an inch longer to accomodate the day when I'd need a knit replacement, just in case these original knits would be hard to replace.

Really a nice jacket though. The leather is very natural looking and like I mentioned, the jacket as a whole just has a nice unique vibe.
