Aces High Irvin - number 2 - after 1 year and 4 months

Hi all

Just thought that I would post some pictures of my Aces High Irvin (nos 2 test jacket - size 40) in the snow and at home.

The jacket has been in my possession for 1 year and 4 months, and I have to say is outstanding in every-way - especially when you consider that my one was only Jon's second jacket built (based on a Warrings Irvin).

Initially the jacket was little tight - due to the thickness of the fur inside - but this has gradually molded to my shape and now fits just right - so I can wear with just a t-shirt, t-shirt/jumper or my uniform underneath - very flexible!

The leather has worn in nicely and is a dead ringer for my original Irvin - amazing - and its a very warm jacket - keeping me nice and toasty in the snowy weather...very happy with this one!

In the snow next to my car - the little white bits in the picture are snow flakes falling from the sky!

Hi Soren

Thanks mate - just like yours :D

Great fit and a great jacket - wait until you wear it in a bit more, it will fit and feel like an original :)

I have been wearing mine to work for the past 2 weeks nearly every day - in fact today is the first day I have not worn it!

I caught a glimpse of the jacket on myself in a window on the tube - sitting on a seat - and the jacket looked very WW2...:)

Do these jackets run actually to size in other words if you are a size 40" it works for you or have you to go up a size as in the Eastman jacket?

Really glad that your jacket is getting lots of use Nigel, and breaking in nicely!

Here's a recent photo of test jacket #1, which is nearly two years old now. I've worn it a fair bit so far this winter. Still keeping me warm!

Cheers,

Jon

Just a reminder - this is what my Irvin looked like when I first got it, over the top of my RAF uniform - standing with the MK9 Spitfire he flies (the spare one) :)
