I really like Thomas, I like his contributions and especially his photos where he is always laughing or smiling.
But he does not turn water into wine and a jacket that I find very questionable into a high-end jacket.
The trial that some people are making of me being responsible (by daring to criticize his jacket) for a lack of new contributors on the forum is perfectly stupid.
If there must be a lack of new ones or the absence of old ones it is perhaps mainly because from now on we must rave about any old rubbish to the detriment of a critical eye that made the success of this forum.
For me the case is closed, I really like Thomas and I especially like not having a woman who wants to dress me!

In short, it seems healthy to me to also accept criticism.
Using your own words above, I hope you don’t mind a bit of it .
Since it's a gift from your wife I won't say anything about the quality of this thing
Absolutely fine … it’s basically an opinion forum… everyone’s entitled to theirs .
Except that you really don't know anything about A-2!
You went personal … no big deal …..unless the guy on the receiving end found it offensive even with the ;).

Going back to my first statement ….
“it’s basically an opinion forum… everyone’s entitled to theirs “
This one’s mine .

I will add gents, 1 last thing......

Let's say, hypothetically, I had no knowledge or indeed interest in vintage leather jackets, let alone vintage military jackets....

And I saw any one of us walking down the street in our A-2, G-1, sheepskin.... ELC, 5 Star, Good Wear, Bill Kelso, Aero etc. etc. etc.

I would think this.... "damn, that's a cool jacket....". That's it. The end.

Now, I am not negating for a second some of the beautiful attention to detail conveyed on this forum, Zu yes you, I make no detractions from your artistic eye for details, it's amazing. Others too but Zu does it with a certain panache. I always listen when you speak as it's always the truth you bring to light. I've learnt much simply reading your posts and responses to various elements on this forum.

Point being - I just get hyped seeing anyone wearing whatever spice of jacket they post on here because frankly, most people out there in the real world don't wear cool timeless jackets like we do.....

Nevermind!

Maybe I’ve blown a mouse into an elephant with getting upset over an not that serious comment.

A forum is not meant to “perfume a pig” and simply agree and praise to any stooopid stuff that comes up.

I think I made my point …

I’m not bragging about the pros ‘n cons of a reproduction-manufacturer and I would not “fight” over a f…in’ jacket.

Let’s “bury the hatchet” for good @Skyranger
