The hide does have a "hard drape," however, characteristic of heavyish leathers.

It looks like the Chinese may have backwards engineered the LW A-1...with it's characteristic overly thick heavy weight leather.

They make a massive range of stuff but often the details let them down.
The pockets etc. are out of proportion and the camo patterns a bit to bright.

That smock's not bad, but the Small size linked to has a 46 inch chest; I know these were intended as an over-garment but that would be way too big for me.

I know what you mean. The listing says size 3 which is 36/38. They may have got mixed up. It might be worth contacting them if you're interested. I like the look of it myself.
