5 star b-10

Mine were green as per originals.

I got me some green buttons to replace them, but seems originals also came with other buttons.

And let's just remind one thing: those are sewn-on buttons. What are the chances one could snag one off, especially in a tight cockpit or aircraft fuselage, with a shitload of gears on his back? Pretty sure someone, at some point, had to replace one or both buttons by something else.

I wouldn't loose my sleep over it :) .

I had used a picture of "Blackboxr1200S" to ask Shawn for some of my wishes.

Even though I am the same size and weight as "Blackboxr1200S" (185 cm et 85 Kg) I preferred to go for a 44 stock with just a back length increased to 70 cm.
When riding a motorbike I wear at least a GB wolly pully underneath, so I wanted something wider than for riding a horse...

All my requests were perfectly carried out by 5star to the nearest cm, they just forgot the usaf logo on the windbreaker, which is not catastrophic.
Upon arrival I put the jacket in the washing machine to remove the shiny side of the cotton.

So of course it's not comparable with the quality of my BR 44R, but at least I finally have a B-10 that doesn't make my navel cold! :)

The fact remains that it is not a warm jacket, at least for a motorbike.
The synthetic fur has no performance compared to BR alpaca.
It can be used at most on summer mornings but not in temperatures below 10°C and has no windproof effect.
It is a shame that 5star no longer has light green knits, which would have been more realistic.

For the price I am not disappointed, 5star made a good job but I am stopping my quest for the perfect B-10, in fact overall it does not really correspond to my use.

Nice review. If they were able to offer lighter shade olive knits, I would go for one of these.

Nice one! Great fit, nice jacket, Looks good on you.

Not sure if I would ever wear this on my motorbike.
Would be shred to bits if you hit the asphalt. ( Been there, done that), so I stick to 'real' leathers when going for a ride.
And yes, you're correct about not being 100% windproof, but more then warm enough for Belgian winters.

Looks great on you!

Again, funny how everyone mentions that Five Star B-10 is not that warm. I deposited my 5* to the cobbler yesterday to have my patch and name tag sewn on and therefore got back to my Aero B-10 this morning... Damn that thing is COLD compared to the Five Star! :p

I can't imagine how war a BR could be!
