    Hi Guys,
Just some pics to show you my new baby. It is absolutely gorgeous. The sheepskin is already curly. It weights like a stone. Hope you will like it. Bests from France [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I like the redskin finish of this one and it is very well made. I am curious to know why Aero made a jacket with a 1940 contract number which does not exist. Their first contract was from the 1939 fiscal year and their next in 1941. Redskin jackets from 1940-1 had a two piece back, not the later three piece back which was typical of 1942-3 produced B-3s.

i have wondered same since aero came out with the redskin. two panel back?, proper nomenclature label? [possibly a better talon repro zipper, as well] the addition of both would make a very nice jacket into a top tier b-3, imho.

I agree Vic. With the price of high end repros these days, such details should be correct.

It's a fantastic jacket, however I also note that Aero have gone back to using thicker shearling for the cuffs, resulting in huge great ruffs of fur which look daft IMO. My old Aero B-3 had the thinner cuffs, why change? Don't wish to detract from a beautiful jacket, but I agree, these details should be sorted on a jacket of that price.

Surprised to see such fluffy cuffs and windflap.

Yeah I feel a bit rotten picking holes in Tufouane's new jacket, of which he must be justifiably proud-indeed, as I've said, I've owned an Aero B-3 which I loved, and miss very much. It's the idiosyncrasies of Aero's reproduction that we're criticising, especially in my case the cuffs and windflap, which they used to do accurately and have now stopped doing. These things would make an already fantastic jacket that bit better. Of course the cuffs and windflap could be fixed with some careful trimming! In any case, it's a beautiful jacket of which I am highly envious, and I'm sure Tufouane will get great service from it.

I'll bet the extra fluff is to address customer issues with shearing wearing off/away which tends to happen the "edges" on many high-end repros (and originals). Paying top dollar for jackets likes this, customers what details that last.

Like Steve it's not for me either, albeit I do like B3's of all shearlings although I just can't see I'd ever wear one, the reason I've never hankered after one although have been tempted a few times! Re the inaccuracies commented on maybe Ken Calder will pop up with a comment? Nice jacket nonetheless, so enjoy and hope the weather in your part of France this winter allows you to put it to good use!

Hi Guys. Thanks for your comments. I have learned a lot reading it. I am not very expert in accuracy so that's why I have bought it. I find it very nice and at a nice price. Perhaps should I return it.... Here are some bad fit pics... [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Fits perfectly from here and beautifully made. I'm with the others who have said the fleece is too fluffy - if we're looking at this from a strict repro standpoint but that's possibly due to the reason CBI has given. The cuff and waist fleece wears down on many repros (and originals for that matter) to bald points over time, it's something I personally happen to like but there probably are many customers who go all hand-wringing over it and so perhaps Aero has thickened the fleeces to compensate for this.

At the end of the day it's all about what you think and if you're happy. There's certainly nothing wrong with it from a fit, construction or functionality standpoint. A handsome jacket.

    Same here!
The fit is perfect. Fits like a B-3 jacket.
People who purchase B-3s and Irvin's are a little surprised as to how big the jacket makes them look once they put it on.
Remember the jacket was made for flying in an open bomber at 28,000 feet high where the temperature was 40 degrees below zero. So it's going to look bulky and big on you .
Cheer up ... you look great my friend.
Now if we can just do something with that blank stare on your face.... lol!

Keep and enjoy. You will never run into anyone who will wonder about any of the above listed items. One of the pros/cons of forums like this. If you purchased another repro B-3, there would be a new list of "issues".
