Considering some A10 gloves, both Eastman and Garcia aviation produce repros but garcias are significantly cheaper, even shipped to the UK..
Now I am painfully aware of false economies but I am also aware that when you pay for the best you sometimes pay a lot more for a little more. How much better can one pair of gloves be than another?
So while I believe that the best quality examples will come from Eastman, where will the best value come from?
anyone in a position to compare quality to see if the extra price yields that much extra?

Not sure if this helps, but Aero have previously recommended Garcia gloves.

Tim you could get 2 pr or Garcias A-10s and still save $$$.I have 2pr of Eastmans and still have a mint pr of originals and the Eastmans are real close.Have you ever thought about having a pair made?Stores here always put the winter wear on clearance in the spring all you need to get is a nice lined pr of the gloves that don't have the elastic gather on the top..Buy a set of cuffs and bingo!!! a pr of A-10s!Clark.

I have some RAF officers gloves which do do the brown leather thing very well but I wanted something warm enough to compensate for the lack of hand warmer pockets on B3 and B10 jackets.
I would buy an eastman pair happily if the extra dollar was proportionate to extra glove-age. what makes them so much better as to mitigate the disparity?

Why does an ELC jacket cost more than one from US Authentic or Flight Suits? They're both leather, cotton, and wool right?

Looking at the picture on the Garcia website, it looks like the wool knit is incorrect and the AAF decal might be too big. Doesn't list goatskin as the hide, just "soft brown leather", or what it is fully lined with. So, with Garcia I'd say you're getting an A-10 style glove. With ELC (made by MASH, IIRC) you're getting an A-10 glove that is close to the originals. So, decide what is important to you, and spend your money accordingly.

John Lever.... Aero hates ELC. I can't imagine them recommending any of their products, ever.

I really think the extra expense may be well worth it. neeeded to be sure that, if Garcias were any good, I wouldnt be throwing bad money after good...

Have not owned a pair of ELC, but the Garcia have great wool knits, and the goat is just fine.

Swing. Your right there. To me it's a business no- no to slag off the opposition.

    I'm pretty sure MASH makes ELC's A-10s.

ELC makes the best repro A-10 gloves, bar none! The Garcia's don't look very good to me.

BTW: Aero shouldn't be recommending anything as they couldn't care less about the accuracy and authenticity of American history, and it shows in there products!

Have sourced a Garcia pair for ten pounds which is a steal.
i am interested in the comment that aero is dismissive about authenticity.. why is that exactly? not disagreeing but I am intrigued by the comment.

I just don't like Aero, I think there Aero Leather A-2 repros are not representative of the originals which are my favorite A-2's! But this is just my opinion and I am entitled to it so please don't take it personally.

That being said, I have seen one Aero repro that just blew my mind, it was the one that belonged to PADDY from the FL... that jacket was amazing!
