are ya sure about the arm pit to arm pit measurement? seems that it would be more like 22"+ for a size 40. back length from the collar seam to bottom of back?

I've just double checked I suppose it's more like 22 inch I was airing on the side caution.
Back measured at 25 inches.
Eastman size 40 on the label.
Hi Marcel,
I haven't been active on the forum for years but I thought I would check to see how you are doing. Hope you are well and not effected by the pandemic.
Happy holidays to you and your family.

Just saw your jacket post from 2011 with photos. Who/what company made this jacket? Love the collar color. Thank you for the information.
say, van, where did those nickel Indian head zipper pullers come from? classy, and I would like to land a couple.
Hi Nick!

I saw that you had purchased an Aero A-2 from Thurston Brothers.

I am considering buying an Aero A-2 and was wondering how was your experience with them? What made you buy from them vs. direct from Aero? Which contract/pattern did you get? I am considering the Aero 38-1711-P Type A-2.

Any feedback or suggestions based on your experience would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi JimO,

I appreciated compliments on my Switlik M-422. Especially since of late It has become abundantly clear to me that the majority of forum members now have a diminished interest in originals and more fine jackets in general.

Cheers, Dave

Dave-

Thanks for checking in.

I will probably never own an original or a higher end ($$$) jacket, but I can certainly appreciate quality, craftsmanship, uncompromising attention to detail, passion & love for one's art- ALL of which you display in your work. Keep on doing it, if not for the accolades of others, but for YOUR own pride & personal satisfaction. :)

Hi dao!

Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. My custom features were: made to measure sizing, premium goatskin, lining, thread & knit color choices & goatskin collar stand lining. If you can use off the shelf sizing and leather material, you may not incur a customization upcharge. The total delivered cost of both my goatskin Doniger & Werbers was $235.

That mean 1.5mm goatskin thick jacket weighs 1.5kg and 1.2mm goatskin weighs 1.1kg, right?
I have a biker jacket weighs 1.5kg. The jacket is very comfortable to wear. But when wearing for a long time, it feel heavy in shoulder. So I'm considering choosing thick leather.

In your post, I see the details "Dark Cognac Brown 6 ply thread". Please explain me clearly about this detail.
With Khaki cotton lining. In the winter, do you feel warm? All I need is a jacket can wear in the winter

Go with the thick leather. The thread & lining colors are shown on the 5* website. This is a leather jacket with a cotton lining and NO extra insulation. If you want to wear it in the 30 degrees F. wear it over a sweater.
Hi,

I appreciate the LIKE on my original Corrigan jacket. That particular pending reproduction jacket using that same pattern has been in the works for over a year now and about to come to fruition. Again, no guess work here or simply using a picture to get fantasy jacket.

As I have taken the time to study it's design thoroughly and both inside and out.

Cheers, Dave
Hi,

I appreciate the like. I know that I could have built several reproduction jacket in the time I spent to do this one restoration. A true labor of love.

But I am always striving for authenticity.

Cheers, Dave
Do you have the actual contacts for Steve Sellers and Dave Sheeley? This relates to getting a replacement, detachable lighter color collar for an A-2 style jack. You referenced those names in a post another member had, same issue as mine. Thank you in advance. New to this forum and find it very intimidating.
I'm interested in your Bill Kelso Aero in size 36 but I wonder if it would fit me. I am 5'8 and 150 lbs and wear size 36 reg suit jackets. But sized up to 38 for my Aero Bronco A2 so I wonder how the BK fits. Thanks.

Hi, Sorry for the late reply. I am afraid but I think the jacket is too short for you.
