Zipped or unzipped?

When hanging for extended periods like over summer, is it better leave a jacket zipped or unzipped? Does it matter?

NO HANGING …. Unless you have hangers that are specifically made for wide distribution of weight across the shoulders . You can do a search for more info.

Hangars

I’ve heard it mentioned many times on the forum, not to hangar your leather jackets. I was wondering why and what are the detrimental effects of doing so.

So I’m guessing this is nay even with the pool noodle.

Is it more of a slope issue, or a width issue. The hangers from Aero seem to have less pitch, but much more narrow.

Doing that won't damage the jacket, but you might still get some distortion in the chest panels. That said, most of the pilots would have hung theirs up without a fuss, so I'm not sure it really matters. The pool noodles are definitely a good thing to have though.

My G-1's that have been hanging since before I got them, probably hung for decades in storage, seem to develop cracking and worse up where the shoulders meet the sleeve basically.
