When is an original not an original jacket?

This seller is selling what on the face of it is an original Aero B-6 with some restoration, but when you study the pics and read all the description it is clear that its actually around 90% an Aero repro, with just the belts, buckles, label and rank eps being original. So is it an original or just a repro with some original features installed on it? Whatever it is it is not cheap!

it means that every Eastman A2 built around a deadstock Talon with new 'to spec' leather, cotton, wool and poppers is a restored original... well not quite but you only have to stretch his point a little further.
even a jacket ( of whatver type) sourced from original parts and lets say deadstock vintage leather/ shearling is a repro first and foremost, utilising NOS/ vintage components
not vice versa.

Here in Australia you can build a $50,000 1969 Classic car around a compliance plate under the bonnet...

Model 81837 Monaro GTS V8...

81837, makes it worth a fortune...three times as much if the numbers match..

Now to find a zipper worth $1000...

You only have to look at similar tales of 'missing' Jaguar D types, cloned from a subframe or even a serial number plate to see the huge amounts of money (hundreds of thousands of pounds in that case) that can be generated from minimal provenance if somebod ywants to buy into the dream...
