What's a M444 needing repairs go for?

I have a vintage clothes buddy that found an M444 W&G size 42.

He asked if I'd be interested in it, but didn't give a price.

Now the problems (I haven't seen it, he just told me about it)

Both shoulders sound like they're blown out (not totally, but in a spot or so) and the left sleeve end has come off but he has it.

He said it seemed pretty fragile...

would it be worth it to repair it and wear it, or should it just be a display piece. I don't do display pieces but I can at least let him know if it's worth fixing up.

In this state, what's a good offer on it?

In this condition, it's only a display piece ... and YOU DON'T WANT IT.

He would be better off selling it as is, without spending money on it ... I can't give you a dollar value, but it's really anything that shows him a profit.
