What you had in your WH was Amelia Earhart's Cord 812, literally her Cord.
The JBS Collection owns it.

Ah hell, didn't knew this was her's! So I sat at the same spot as Amelia Earhart (someone needed to go behind the steering wheel while we pushed it on the ULD)... That's quite humbling.

And now, to brag a bit, I also had the opportunity to sit into Dale Earnhardt's 1984 Chevy Monte Carlo, for the exact same reasons:

You guys wouldn't believe the cars we see going through our warehouse, mostly collectors and old racing cars, some true piece of arts!

Edit: @ShanghaiJack I'm sorry, I have to add this, this is now only hitting me full time. I sat where Amelia Earhart once sat, I "drove" her car. This is slowly sinking in, and I'm getting quite emotional about it. Thank you for letting me know, this is a memory I for sure will keep very dearly.

Just finished a nasty job on the mustang. When I was getting it ready for winter I noticed both rear axles and differential leaking. This is the type of job I would usually farm out to a shop as it’s nasty without a hoist. Which I did 5 years ago. Obviously that was a mistake as they usually last for decades. As soon as I pulled the axles, there were the garder springs from the seals floating in the rear end. Don’t know how they managed that. But the hardest part was pulling the third member. It’s a 9 inch rearend with the removable “pumpkin “ but it weighs near 80 pounds. This is why I do everything myself. Just can’t find quality guys anymore. Oh well, it’s done. And instead of 5 or 600 bucks it cost me 50 for seals and gaskets. But that doesn’t cover the copious amount of Advil I’ll be taking for the next few days;)

Ford was especially bad for that all the way back to the model A. They made changes part way through a production year.
Sounds like Ducati.
I know somebody who purchased a 900 Supersport brand new during the 90’s with foot-pegs grey on left side and black on right side !

I guess they want to use up all their stock. But something that obvious is pretty bad.
