What kind of wings on A2?

I've been working on a squadron patch and nametag for my aero A2. It will be the 603rd BS and a reg. nametag. I've been thinking about adding wings above the nametag. What are some thoughts about the wings being painted on,tooled leather or a set of real wings? I've been kind of leaning toward a set of real wings either repo or authentic what ever I can find with a clutch back. OK let's here it.

I have seen wings made from fabric, leather and painted on A2s above the name strip. However, pin back 3" silver originals are commonly seen on A2s. One of my original A2s still has the two pin holes where the wings were mounted above the name strip.

For my wannabe Cooper, "Frying Tigers" tribute jacket, I tried using a pinback V tiger pin, it kept falling off. At a militaria show some vendor was hawking 'Genuine metal flying tiger wings and AVG uniform emblems' warranted to have belonged to AVG ace, Erik Schilling, for $ 1500. All the insignia had small holes in each corner which was used to sew them onto the uniform.

The provenance of the wings and emblems was busted when I asked Eric Schilling, who happened to be in a different building at the show signing his book, if that stuff had been his. he said unequivocally NOT !!!.

It's your jacket, do whatever you want with it. Of course reasonable taste would be encouraged. It looks good.
