Grab these original G-1s at reasonable prices while you can. They are disappearing into collections at a rapid pace and prices will eventually be going up up and away !’

100% correct.
Someone listed the Ebay add here, was indeed reasonably priced. Getting it to Belgium added another $120, but totally worth it.

Yep, I did exactly that myself B-Man.
Give it some years and these will become as tricky to get hold of as original WWII's are now.

That one we know was May 1958, because of the legal documents from the court case. One of 11,159 jacket made before the MCTSA pulled the plug on the contract.

After seeing the jacket that Daniel Craig
( James Bond) wore in the movie Skyfall I researched it and found that it was a version of the LVC Menlo jacket. I liked it but couldn’t find one in my size at a reasonable cost so… I had one made . It’s not a stitch for stitch repro but …. that’s ok .. I’m good with it .

Now that is a great jacket worth all the "great jacket!" comments given to every jacket on this forum. It will last you forever and it's real with that magical goatskin and mouton of that cloudy past. It's the jacket Elvis wore in some dumb movie about the World's Fair. Truly a beauty!
