I reckon this is one of the best photos in this whole thread.
If I may say, you look cooler than a freezer full of ice blocks at the South Pole.
You need to hire that little guy out. That’s one of the best pics we’ve seen in this thread. You can see the whole package. The selfies just are too close and you never get to see the entire jacket. Just the face of the person and sections of the jacket.
Maybe it’s the angle of the camera but those pockets look huge in this photo .
So damn cool!
Nope. I'm short. Maybe that's why the pockets look big. It is a 38 though. Think mid sixties.Maybe it’s the angle of the camera but those pockets look huge in this photo .
I’ll guess it’s a Irvin B. foster or a Star .
Both of those companies made them in the mid 60s so the only other companies it could be are Ralph EdwardsNope. I'm short. Maybe that's why the pockets look big. It is a 38 though. Think mid sixties.
Ralph Edwards. JC said on his page this was a rare transitional contract because it has all of the early sixties stuff on it, but has single ply knits. Goat, with the real mouton collar obviously. Probably 1966.Both of those companies made them in the mid 60s so the only other companies it could be are Ralph Edwards
Martin Lane or a Gregory . Yea or nay?
It definitely looks sweet.Ralph Edwards. JC said on his page this was a rare transitional contract because it has all of the early sixties stuff on it, but has single ply knits. Goat, with the real mouton collar obviously. Probably 1966.
Thank you for putting me out of my "misery" , I was thinking that it was a little earlier. This said, it was a good opportunity to return to the excellent thread on USN jackets. Looks great!Ralph Edwards. JC said on his page this was a rare transitional contract because it has all of the early sixties stuff on it, but has single ply knits. @Smithy that's very kind and after a brutal week at work last week and it being Sunday night, I thank you for it. This said, the amazing jackets on this thread that I see everyday coupled with the knowledge is really the best thing about this thread. You need to hire that little guy out. Your little guy nailed it !!
Thanks, that's very kind, but the thread is

@B-Man2 I agree that selfies are too close (and I have long arms). My son picked this one out (he goes cyclic on the camera button like he's playing a video game) and it was the only one where I was in motion - I was actually walking towards him telling him to stop taking so many pictures!
but if you can find the real thing, and it's in good shape and fits, you don't have to look any further.
I see 7823D (WEP) which would make it later sixties unless I'm mistakenActually I'm kind of puzzled by the earliness of the jacket. The label is older, from earlier sixties (close to illegible due to wear). The rib ply is not replaced it's single ply, maybe I'm wrong.View attachment 84690View attachment 84692
