Another chilly day here on the Central Coast of NSW.....my German Police "peacoat",I was lucky with this one because it's got zero pinholes (never badged) and for something made in the 70's it has phenomenal leather that hasn't hardened or dried out....
Plus it's black rather than the grey green alot of these come in.... plus it is quite stylish lol

My father had a lovely Indiana Jones jacket when I was a wee lad.....got it from some mob in the UK and it was tough as teak,which I would love in a modern jacket.....no idea what happened to the thing (which wouldn't have fitted me anyway)

Well, if you're interested, the original makers still offer them, and they're one of the more budget-friendly options out there. The originals were lambskin (definitely not tough, which is an advantage in the film industry), but they offer them in cow and goat as well. https://www.wested.com/

Haha yeah I know all about lambskin.... and I'm sure wested wasn't the brand dad's was?
I know it was from the UK because he bought it on a family trip there in the mid 90's from a factory second store (it was literally right beside the factory like a little growth) and I think it was goatskin since he never did anything to it but wipe the dust and dirt off it and it still stayed supple.....had a lovely colour and real depth to it to it as well

Threw on a GW Acme 21996 today.
JC made the jacket in Russett Horsehide and then put a light coat of reddish depot re-dye over the top. As the jacket breaks in the russet undercoat will bleed thru resembling the early Aero re-dyes. The color changes with indoor Vs outdoor light.

I don’t wear it enough living in Florida, but if I could just get a good solid couple of years wear into it , the results would really be amazing. I think the color would be very close to the worn original.
