today N1 made by 5Star with C3 vest and chambray underneath - pants are Pike Brothers - boots are CHIPPEWA

no snow around here - temps are still above freezing point (what was that in "Farenheit" again?)

Thomas, you look cool. Great jacket and everything else. Why is there sadness in your eyes? Or are you worn out by transatlantic flights?

OK, so I am not actually wearing it but a VERY impressive Bronson N-1 just arrived. Here's a quick pic next to my original. No, I can't take a picture of the lining (I know people will ask). Too busy with work but just wanted to say for the price, this is a GREAT repro. I predict this will be a jacket I actually wear. Weight very similar to my original, all of the details are there just less high end materials but still very fine. Purchased from Bronson direct, shipped for $150.00 (on sale)

"Awesome," Burt - the word you're looking for is "awesome." ;)

No I think the word you are looking for is "nuts" or "bonkers" ;)

I have no idea how those chaps in tropical climes (CA and FL) can even attempt to wear, let alone think about wearing heavy sheepskin flying jackets!

I wore my Irvin perhaps twice during daytime in the 7 years we were in Melbourne, I wore it sometimes out in the garden in the evening over winter having a ciggie or a stogie when I still smoked but heaven forbid wearing the bally thing during daylight!

I was tempted to buy either a B3 or an Irvin from Five Star, but it hardly ever gets cold enough in Wellington to justify a purchase. I mean, it gets cold sure, but it rains sideways a lot.

Good Lord man, are you a Kiwi??!!

So am I, although I've been living variously in Australia, South America and now Norway for quite awhile. Great to have another Antipodean from the right side of the ditch. Bugger about the bloody cricket :(

Ahaha! I thought you already knew that.

Oh, and bugger about the bloody rugby as well.

Agree on this, the bronson N1's are super nice jackets. I have two early blue ones and one in khaki from them. I enjoy wearing them all winter long. But after purchasing a N1 from Gizemo I have to say that this one is a better bang for the buck, for around 250.- you become a N1 that's a little heavier with real alpaca lining and overall better materials and craftsmanship, definitely comparable to buzz for half of the price.
