Thanks mulceber
she's a re-dye. depot. Seems like a darker to more russet? anyhow, it was a re-dye. Yours seems pretty untouched. Not a lot of wear and tear. Mine was worn in 63 missions in a B-26. Six of one and half a dozen of the other if -you want pristine, or batttle worn I guess.

I kind of wish it wasn't re dyed but, that's it's history. When you get a jacket from ww2 eighty years ago, this is the thing. I don't deserve to wear a jacket like this. I smell it right now, ww2 reminds me of my parents generation. Always will.

Ya would like the cuffs to match. The rib is original. It doesn't have any stretch left. But it is original. I need someone who is pro to do that. Don't want anybody touching this jacket who is not pro. Thanks for the suggestion.

the cuffs were replaced long ago I think. Most jackets this old have had some replacements. The only replacement is the cuffs on this jacket. Still has original waist knit. The original triple marked Talon is still there. Point of interest, is the original chocolate brown painting of the zipper box. Only Monarchs had this feature.

Yeah, if it seems like the replacement is old enough to be part of the jacket’s history, I don’t think I’d change it. My Monarch has some darning of the knits that was done in black thread, and I haven’t touched it, since I figure in the field is the only place where they wouldn’t try to match the color of the knits.
