‘Allo ‘Allo...miserable dull grey day in London, so dug out an old 30s/40s long grey double breasted leather German coat for a walk to the shops. I bought it i a flea market in Franfurt in late '70s , could be a wartime one, doesn't have any labels. I doubt it's military but someone might have an idea, has an unusal single button fastening. Unfortunately the buckle is missing from the belt and i haven't managed to find any that would work.View attachment 54374
Always great photos.Old pristine Aero today. View attachment 54430
That's spunky....Damp and cold out there today so out with the old ELC Irvin that's just been treated to a sniff of hide food..

Love that jacket . Why ELC moved away from making them with that hide to the stuff they use now, makes no sense other than it’s cheaper to produce the new stuff .
As I mentioned Tim ... Those older hides were so much better than what’s being put out today , the only logical reason they went to this new stuff must be bigger profits .
Jacket is looking great!Soaked the FS Dubow on a short walk through the neighborhood...
This is why I support the theory that a good second jackets value is dragged up by the increased prices on newer, yet inferior jackets....As I mentioned Tim ... Very sound reasoning ... look no farther than TFL and there’s an older BOB Irvin for sale for $1314.00 . That’s probably a couple of hundred more than it sold for new .This is why I support the theory that a good second jackets value is dragged up by the increased prices on newer, yet inferior jackets....
Black fleece Aero Irvin (re-dyed).
Did you darken it to reduce the contrast? How did you do it?
