I had some oil spots on my old Avirex A-2 . If you rub them with talcum powder it can help-you need to rub hard, to produce friction, the heat from which softens the oil and the powder absorbs it. The powder starts to form little clumps if you’re doing it right, and you need to keep adding powder. Didn’t entirely get rid of it, but it made it less obvious. Of course the more you wear it, the more it becomes part of the jacket’s character.

A great looking RW 18091 Wholenineyards. Unless it was a re-dye the 18091 contract was made in russet only. Try a coat or two of Pecards applied with a hair dryer. This should reduce the concentration of the oil spots. I have a Good Wear RW 18091 in seal goatskin, and I sure wish it was russet.
Jap, jap, we’ll leave it in whatever shade of russet it is in now. Thanks for the input!

Wore the very old pre-release pattern WPG goatskin A-2 today. I tend to wear it when I have physical work to do. We have to change from winter, studded tyres to summer tyres around now and the car was also filthy (hasn't been washed over winter). I could have done both myself but I was buggered as I've been on a course over the last month and the last 8 days were all in a row and ended with written and verbal exams. So I booked the car in with a Kurdish mate of mine's business.

Carried dirty tyres both to the car and out when the work was done. And because the kids had been nagging me, I put the trampoline up all whilst wearing the WPG A-2. I've been an utter shit to this jacket ever since I got it but it's never failed me.

There's more accurate A-2s out there but I bloody love it. It drapes like an original, the pattern is seriously lovely - it fits me like a glove, and it's bulletproof.

Didn't take a photo as when I'm busy that kind of thing never enters my mind so this is the only photo I have of it. I really should take some detailed snaps and post them here.

So whilst some of the small details are off what I love is that it fits like this when I wear it...

And the leather has that smooth, soft drape with very easy creasing like you can see here...

These were damn good jackets and it's a shame WPG stuffed up the ones that they put into mass production.

I've even stencilled it, added a Perry label and inspector and AAF stamps.

That was the first thing I noticed . did that jacket come from someone who was in the Wild Wiesel operational program during the Viet Nam air warfare days?
I bought this jacket without any patches. Instead I came up with my own idea of patches basing on images found online.

Not nearly a hefty as a LW and haven't owned an Aero Scotland in ages. In terms of weight - it's very close to my original 27752.
The jackets a couple months old with a lot of wear.

I suppose it is one lining in lieu of another.. Not an additional lining.... Great call. The 'new' lined ELC looks great... Exchange rate does not help these days for purchases....
