Smithy - the Tanker is my favorite WW2 jacket, warm, comfortable, unfitted awesome look! If I could only have one cloth WW2 era jacket, the Tanker for sure. They do make the BEST flight jackets!!! I can see why so many 9th AF guys sued them.

RN submariner and Aero Barnstormer today. Blustery, around 1 to 3 Celsius with snow and sleet. The car was at the garage getting a service so I was on foot and very happy to be armed with the above.

Inside the Arctic Circle in Norway B2M. Sunset is currently around 3pm here and it's only going to get earlier until it disappears for a bit ;)

It is very, very pretty and up here especially. The landscape in the north is very dramatic much like the weather. It's the perfect spot for Irvin lovers as you'll get several months worth of wear out of them. Saying that there are times in the depth of winter when we get large storms where I revert to a modern Canada Goose parka.

Well my grandmother on my fathers side was from Bergen and I'm at that point in my life when the years are rolling by very quickly. Thus the term bucket list has much more meaning to me. I remember my grandmother telling me about Norway and the beauty of the summers and the more beautiful but cold winters.
I only wish she or my dad were here to go with me. I would have loved to see where she was raised and to hear her stories. They were both fluent in Norwegian.

Bergen is arguably the most beautiful city in Norway BM2. My wife lived there for 6 years after leaving school and hence we go down there fairly often as she has a lot of friends down that way.

If you ever come on over let me know and I can help with some suggestions and advice, and if you're very keen and make it up to the deepest North I'll even shout you a whisky or ten to keep warm ;)
