In his book, Eastman commented that the Depot redyes diminished the life of the jacket, but I’ve noticed some of them actually seemed to protect the jacket. This may well be a case of that.It really is amazing how this stuff has survived. Not only the age, but used in wartime.
I’ve often wondered if some guys loved their jackets as much as we do and took extra good care of them. Thanks for that info .Thanks Burt. I am normally a 40 (a 42 in some A2's) and purchased a 38. I also have a 40 on the way. I may try to shrink it to this size if the zipper pull is installed on the correct side.
