well, I survived yesterday's Shopping excursion with my missus without having to give home to a new handbag but..... it was high time for a new jacket for me

found this one for the quarter of its original asking price and I liked it's military inspired look when I tried it on. it's padded and therefor also quite versatile :)

pls don't be too harsh, I am a fashion victim from time to time...

View attachment 96777Have you figured out what it is and where it’s from yet Phil?

yes of course... it's a jacket from Italian label "Diesel" from their last year's Autumn collection... I was just killing some time waiting for the missus and decided to do a quick round in their outlet when I came across this jacket... the last one in my size and for the price, it was too nice to be left behind...
(the face of the missus was priceless too when she saw what I had done and sighed "oh no, not another jacket..." )

I’ve got 3 dsqquared military inspired jackets from before I knew what an A2 was. B15 lookalike in beige,B10 inspired thing and monstrosity with full length zips from shoulder to wrist..we’ve all been in our 20s once)

it seems that these military inspired pieces of clothing have entered continental European fashion only in the last twenty years... when I was in my late teens and early teens, besides Alpha there was no other label doing deck jacket clones, MA-1 lookalikes or M-65 Parka copies...
brands like Avirex could only be found in stores in London (that's where I got my first ANJ-3/G-1 type jacket) and besides that, nothing could be found in fashion stores, at least here in Austria and to a good part in Germany either...

my first real flight jacket was my trusty ELC B-3 which I ordered via sending a letter via airmail with my measurents and a big thank you for the leather samples and catalogue which they had provided me beforehand...

I still have the jacket, the samples and the catogue from back then...

oh the memories

Cool enough on this Super Bowl Sunday for a beauty of a Vietnam era1968 USN Star G-1 with a nicely faded Mouton collar , and an AJ Brown Philadelphia Eagles Jersey. Fly Eagles Fly!!:)
