What are these patches on my L.W Foster G-1?

Hi,

Please Can anyone identify the patches on this G-1? The first appears to be an owl in flight and the one on the rear mentions the Atsugi air base...

Hey David I know what the owl patch is, makes sense on a G1, Squadron 35 (VC-35) Night Hecklers squadron patch. VC-35 was the night attack aircraft unit that supplied detachments to carriers flying night interdiction missions throughout the war in Skyraiders often taking off and landing in the dark while causing serious damage to enemy trains, convoys and troops in the night attack role. Symbol, a night owl

"Night Hecklers" is a fantastic squadron name!

"VAN" is navy jargon for Night Attack Fighter units , W for the detachment is was assigned to , the overall patch is probably a CAG-Carrier Air Group type as it has other units mascots/design on it , check into the 50's era ships unit's basing for it you may find more that way ........
