Watches to wear with your flight jackets...

My perfectly dull Timex just got upgraded with a perfectly amazing hand made strap by Steveo Straps (https://www.steveostraps.com). It's made using the canvas of a british cargo aerial delivery bag, with a polymer backing. It must be the most comfortable watch strap I've ever had, and Steve's craft is top notch:

This isn't related to the watch that I'm wearing today, but I thought it might be appropriate to share, given the events of September 11th, 23 years ago. I'm very much a fan of the WOE dispatch articles and their newly formed YouTube channel. Hopefully you all will enjoy the video and it's sobering reminder of the lives affected and lost on that day.

A NATO ( the isssued original ) strap never stinks nor rots when in contact with moisture or water
SS or NATO, for all Tool watches..

I agree. If I had a Speedmaster, I think I'd wear it with a velcro strap.

Speedy for the next 11 hours ( flight ).View attachment 161109
THE SPEEDY:
It can take radio magnetic waves without accuracy issues, it can take a lot of fine dust, lots of vibrations..( lawnmower and jetskies alike..)…
Plus it does not need to illuminate when in a night patrol.. to read TOT or ZT etc..last but not least it does not illuminate randomly…( may kill you under certain circumstances).
The straps are pure garbage.
My last 3 issued G’s went straight in the trashcan for precisely theses reasons.
WWide military for issuing watches changed towards more „ reliable „ watches…
France changed towards RalfTech ( photo from my PC)
