My "daily wearer" is a Marathon GSAR or TSAR (I think it's a GSAR but not super sure since it's not the "trigalight" dial but the "maraglo" dial) that I had "swapped" off a Canuck for my slouch hat and working knife......my "dinner watches" are a Omega 40's dress watch and a couple of beautifully utilitarian fob watches I inherited off my grandfather....

I wear my Bulova A-11 watch almost daily. I got used to its 32mm dial very well (I have small wrists and it is perfectly adapted to A-2 jackets sleeve wristlets). So much so that I find all my other watches huge (my biggest watch is 41mm) !
I had fun taking some pictures...
Here is one of them: my Roamer from the mid 1930's.

I always thought he flew in the Great War for the USAAC looking for the Red Baron :D

B-Man2, He flew in The Great War and to the moon. That dude was certainly an over achiever! For fun, I wear this Timex Flying Ace. It’s a mechanical watch which usually gets a smile and a few laughs. The watch is basically a 1960’s Marlin reissue.

Glass not original to a Sea-Dweller.
Magnifying bubble over the date not for standard Sea Dweller model.
Sapphire is correct for a 16600. The 2000ft models from the 60s-70s were acrylic.

The date loupe is an add on, but not permanent. I simply bought one on eBay and laid it on the crystal, to see how it would look.

Personally I hate the cyclops, which is why the only Rolex I will have is my 14060M. Nice watch, ludicrously priced today.

That was my first one, and I should have kept it. Then I tried a sub date, and finally a Seadweller, which has now been 14 years.

You are right. Prices are off the hook. Mine is probably worth triple what I paid, and I think the 14060m is worth even more, especially the 2-liner.

What a great looking combo and keepsake from your dad and his service. Those are special things that are irreplaceable and great family heirlooms.
Thanks for posting .

B-Man2, My apologies for the late reply. Don’t buy off eBay because the prices are absolutely ridiculous. They are currently out of stock on the Timex website. List price for the watch is $249.00 US. They often run 25% off sales which will also lower the price
My advice is to create an account on the Timex website and click the notify me when it comes back in stock. I had to do this and immediately ordered it after being notified.
The original band on the watch is black but I replaced it with a good quality brown band with grain to mimic the A2 jacket. Here is the link for the watch. Good Luck !

This afternoon, while strolling in paris with my wife we passed in front of a small vintage watch shop.
A few watches immediately caught my eye, I had to try !

I’m know thinking how to finance that ! o_Oo_O
