I put it in brackets , so please read quote „ rare and wanted“…. Hence others believe it.. and mentioned it several times.
Again IMO CWU-36/P or CWU-45/P with or without bi-swing, are not rare and not really wanted ( how many here are seeking for one or even own one ?).
A 100++ US$ jacket sitting on Crapbay for weeks is not very wanted IMO.
Nevertheless, I owe a CWU-36/P, issued to me ( not the bi-swing version). I am happy with it and wear it mostly when travelling.

Second, bi-swing back is rare and wanted , probably a rumor for long while ago. I heard that that as early as early 2000s.

Second that… a rumor.. Those who wore one ( read bi-swing ) in OSAN ROK-AFB looked a bit like wearing a camel-back..So again not for me… but others maybe.
All a matter of personal taste and or POV.

So are any of these jackets particularly rare or wanted? The CWU style or is that a myth?

It was the conventional wisdom back along that the bi-swing version, being earlier I guess, was more sought after. I have to say I’ve owned two bi-swing examples, sold them both (due to lack of funds rather than anything being wrong with them), I hoped for some decent money for the pristine, pretty much unworn one, put it up with no BIN and it went for about 40 quid. I picked up a non-bi-swing version for very little money, hoping to make a bob, but it was so nice I kept it-softer and more comfortable than the earlier ones. I still have it. They are perfectly decent, military issue jackets, warm and comfortable. If that one floats your boat then, as I said, I don’t think you’ll go far wrong. I wouldn’t lose too much sleep over the collectability aspect, there are a lot of them around and although they appear to have gone up a bit in price since I last looked, we’re not talking about WWII era A-2’s here. Maybe that will change in time, but nobody is falling over themselves to get hold of one.

Good to know. Thank you for the information. Besides the A-2s, what are the other generally desirable military coats amongst collectors? I assume N-1s must be up there.
