What the sterling version better than normal A-11's
What was the difference ?
What did they use on the others from Bulova/Elgin /Waltham.
Do you know what percentage were made against normal.
Oh I liked it to so I bought it.
Its arrived and its just perfect.
It did come with an elastic metal strap which does seem to look cool.
However I have ordered a period canvass strap -still waiting for that.
Do you know if silver elasticated metal straps were ever put on
Thanks for any help,
Alan

Usually a plated base metal case, with a stainless steel back. Yes, fit the canvas strap, and throw the expanding metal bracelet away ... nasty things, eventually it will damage the case lugs.

Temporary leather strap on until the mail man arrives some day soon with "the real strap".
In the meantime the elasticated metal disaster has been consigned to the dump.
Thanks for the advice as always

Alan,

Bulova seemed to be the only maker who used the higher percentage silver content in their cases, and it was only on a small percentage of their watches. Most had the plated cases.
They are pretty tough to find, but not impossible. I bought one last year, and have seen a few others since. They make the best A-11 IMO.
Congrats on the purchase!

Jeff, Thanks for the information. Makes me even happier with the purchase.
I have worn it since I received it and it keeps great time.

Great with my A2's as I roll that sleeve up to check the time.
Now I need a great period strap for it.
