I would prefer the Mcoys Bronco A2 than multiple Protech generic A-2
To be fair it's how long is a piece of string, if you haven't got the dinero you haven't plus the mcCoys came up after as it often does otherwise I'd have snapped it up

Jonny, I've been buying off tabao for five years.
Bob Dong was okay but they have not updated their flight jackets for years, I would not bother with them anymore.
Bronson, always improving worth every penny.
Gizmo, I don't have anything by them only what I have seen in threads here in the past, quality wise the next step up.
For flight jackets/deck jackets do not buy anything other than bronson or gizmo.
Non stock is part of bronson do not buy the non stock brand deck jackets it's a cheaper version.
There are some other niche/expensive chinese makers but I don't think their stuff is on aliexpress.
There are other brands in china doing less accurate stuff, though some of them do do okay fatigue gear.
Red wind/red tornado jeans are good, the problem with nearly all the chinese brand selvedge jeans and pants are that the legs are not very long if you want to cuff them, theirs are longer, their copy of the WW2 levis 501xx are great value, great cut.
This is the model number and using it for the search they will come up on taobao and on aliexpess as well S1000XX-0002

Cheers Dino, I have Japanese raw selvedge denim from uniqlo and they were good, never tried red wind yet, and I always cuff my denims, especially my button jeans for suspenders,

Jungle cloth fabric used by Bob Dong was the best on inexpensive market, it is ordered from a Japanese funded manufacturer , perhaps he can no longer order more from that supplier, which caused him stop build jacket.

My advice is to stop looking and buying and step back for a short while. Monies saved will enable the purchase of stuff as it comes along further down the road.
Steve I buy for the vintage shops I run here so I always need decent stock anyway, the line to cut is to get sentimental and like anything I buy in, that's the best advice for myself but I appreciate the sentiment, after all I sell what I like myself and it does ok, maybe I shouldn't haha but I won't sell any old tat like most of them here in Spain do, it'll be right as I did ok with the Buzz sugar Cane jackets for my own collection

So I heard and read through other forums, buzz rickson used m43 nos fabric for their early b series jackets and heritage jackets, I heard decent reviews about dong jackets so shame it stopped

Shanghai,

How would you evaluate the piece of market the chinese buyers represents?

From reading your posts, it looks like there is a genuine local keen interest for vintage stuff and military garments.

Is originality important or the just the overall look is important?

I always believe that this production was almost always geared for export and to compete with Buzz/McCoy.

Thank you,

D

I was not aware you were buying stock for your own outlets too.

Buzz built their own Crown Zipper, that’s the most significant archive they ever made.
Dong use a better subcontractor to put together his jacket, and best Jungle Cloth in that range of price.

Yes Steve, I have vintage clothing outlets, here and I occasionally do the rastros and the military fair, its why I look out for semi decent stuff and do a restore if I need to, the McCoy if I bought it was for myself, most of the people I sell to here don't care its 100% but I do, mixing business with pleasure I guess, lastly I appreciate all the knowledge you and the other guys have given me in my collecting route!

Most of them ,they are ’Amekaji’ fan , it’s how Japanese pronounce ‘ American Casual Ware ‘.
They want what they have seen on Japanese magazines, or American movie / TV shows. And some of them , get ‘evolution‘ , start seeking original pieces or, better quality reproductions. That’s how Bronson and Gizemo could started their business.

For your last question, I am sure Gizemo is the case, their business model is be like Toyo/Buzz, you know , they have bigger capital, which means better relations with materials suppliers, and able to develop better product.
